What is a room escape game?
A room escape game is an interactive adventure that takes place in a themed room. When doing a room escape, a team will encounter many different puzzles and challenges.
How long will the room escape adventure take?
Escape the Cabin, Alpine Ski Lodge, and The Inventor’s Workshop run for 1 hour and 13 seconds. Mystery at Moonbeam Manor runs for 1 hour and 13 minutes. The outdoor Golden Key quest is listed as 1–3 hours. The original room FAQ allows an additional 15 minutes for orientation and 15 minutes for a debrief; allow time for these around your game.
When should I arrive for the room escape?
Plan on being at the room escape 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled time. This will allow you time to check in and get ready. Please try to be on time as there will be another group starting after you finish, and we can not add additional time if you start late.
What if I have no idea how to do a room escape?
Glad you asked! Mountain Room Escapes wants you to get hooked on room escape games! Our orientation is designed so that you can enjoy the game regardless of your previous experience.
What if I’m claustrophobic?
If you feel claustrophobic in a large living room then our room escape games are probably not for you.
How many people can be in a room escape?
Moonbeam Manor, Escape the Cabin, and The Inventor’s Workshop list 2–8 players. Alpine Ski Lodge lists 3–10 players, with 3–4 players recommended as a minimum. The Golden Key outdoor quest accommodates large groups. Call us to arrange larger groups or discuss which game fits your party.
Will the room escape game be too scary for me?
The short answer is NO! While some room escapes are very scary, we offer exciting adventurous scenarios that are not too scary. In fact, all of our rooms are family friendly with puzzles and challenges that are appropriate for all ages.
Will I have to be in a group with strangers?
All of our games are private! You will only ever be in a room with the people you book for.
Is a room escape a good idea for a date night?
Absolutely! Make sure your date likes puzzles and doesn’t mind working together on a challenge.
I want to propose to someone special (for example), can you help me do that?
A room escape can be a great way to give a surprise gift and we would love to work with you to build a memorable special event.
Do I have to know how to act to do an escape room?
No! You are in a themed room but do not have to be a “character”. You are welcome to get into the spirit of the room, but don’t worry about acting, role-playing, or having to pretend to be someone else: just be yourself and enjoy it!
